For the 13th year in a row the Austrian defending champions enter the most important team competition of our continent. Since 1998, the founding year of our European Champions League the Lower Austrians have been present in it without interruption, reached the semifinals 7 times, were finalists 5 times, and won the title of 2008, the greatest success in the club"s history.

This relatively young club shows further impressive successes: Since 1998, when SVS Niederösterreich was founded as the club association of Union Wolkersdorf and SV Schwechat, both from Lower Austria, SVS played the role of favorite in all competitions. 11 times national champion in a row, 5 times final participation in our European Champions League with the title of 2008, this record cannot be matched in Austria.

The name to be applied to these triumphs is Werner SCHLAGER, the world champion from Paris 2003. In the team is also another world class player, the Austrian citizen and defensive artist CHEN Weixing. This year SVS NÖ starts the Austrian way. Schlager and Chen will be supported by the young team players Daniel Habesohn and Stefan Fegerl.

Last season they reached the quarterfinal and lost against Sterilgarda TT. The club receives precious support from several sponsors: the federal state of Lower Austria, the city of Schwechat and the Lower Austrian insurance company (official name: Niederösterreichische Versicherung) have enabled the spectacular streak and will keep supporting the club.

From December on SVS NÖ has a new playing hall in the city center of Schwechat. The „Multiversum Schwechat" is one of Europe's top multifunctional event halls with a capacity of 2.500 spectators and is also the home of the international table tennis center "Werner SCHLAGER Academy".
