When SD Maberzell celebrated its 40th birthday, in 1960, one of decisions was to establish table tennis section. Actually, two years earlier some people passionate by table tennis already decided to have his own club and we cold say that table tennis department is existing from 1958. Many years after that they are agree what the most important thing was in that big step - friendship!

People who recommended their lives to Fulda are, among others, Heinrich WAHMHOFF (first president 1958-1971), Karl-Heinz HOFMAN, Karl-Friedrich GIESECKE, Horst Diegelman (record holder with 1078 matches in Fulda`s jersey).

Last six years are the most successful in club’s history. In the middle of the 90s club made the team with a mixture of experienced and young players. In 1998 Fulda came from Second Bundesliga (Group South) to top national league. Season 2000/01 was disappointing and full of injuries. SMIRNOV and DING couldn’t play as they can and Fulda dropped to Second league. In next few seasons club was very near to compete again in Bundesliga, but missed to do it and, finally, did it in unforgettable season 2004/05, finished by record 40-0 score.
After that table tennis legend Jan-Ove WALDNER signed for Fulda, becoming its key man, together with excellent Chinese defender WANG Xi. Season 2007/08 was especially interesting, giving a pleasure to fans to see together two Swedish icons, Jan-Ove VALDNER and Jorgen PERSON. Next season club participated in European Champions League, supported by new Swede, Robert SVENSSON.

Last season (2009/10) Fulda finished on second place in Bundesliga, but lost in play-of semis from Ochsehnausen (both times host won 3:2, but Ochsenhausen had better set difference: 10:8 v 11:10). WANG Xi had the highest percentage of wins in all league: 66,574 % - 27 wins, 5 losses.
