Ochsenhausen reached the final two seasons ago, semifinal in 2004 and 2010 and losing very narrowly in 2007 in the quarterfinal against the later champions Royal Villette Charleroi only due to the worse point ratio (game ratio and score were tied). It was the closest result in the 10 year history of the European Champions League for Men. This spring they also stopped by Charleroi, after two losses by 3:2.
The register of successes also shows 3 national titles in the years 1997, 2000 and 2004, 3 German cup victories, 2003, 2004 and 2005, and important international successes 1996 and 1997 when they won the ETTU-Cup. The rise of Ochsenhausen started in 1991, when the club was still stuck in its regional German league. Rainer IHLE the president of Ochsenhausen successfully signed a marketing and sponsor partnership contract with LIEBHERR. The support of this company and the efficient cooperation, which can truly be described as a dream team, led the club straight to the top.
In season 2009/10 within one week, they lost both finals against Borussia Dusseldorf - in ECL and in Bundesliga. Team played with this line up: Taiwanese international CHUANG Chih Yuan, Adrian CRISAN, Romanian champion of 1999, 2000, 2002, 2004, 2005 and 2006, Swede Par GERELL and young Portuguese Tiago APOLONIA. In this year Ochsenhausen lost both battles for trophies in Germany, in January in National Cup, in June in Bundesliga. Both times they were beaten by Borussia.
Ochsenhausen will have totally new line up in 2010/11 season. On no. 1 will play promising Japanese Seiya KISHIKAWA who came from Borussia where he played as no.3, then no. 2 will be Tiago APOLONIA (only who "survived" from last season) and no. 3 Marcos FREITAS. Third newcomer, beside KISHIKAWA and FREITAS, is Filus RUWEN. The oldest among these four is APOLONIA, born on 1986.
