Danish top club was founded in 1961 in the city of Roskilde, which lies about 40 km away from the airport of Copenhagen and boasts 80.000 citizens. The club was always well represented in the national association and produced excellent young talents. In recent years the club was able to celebrate enormous boosts in performance.

This is mostly due to the very involved officials such as president and club manager Martin LUNDQVIST and sport director Allan BENTSEN. After a preliminary inquiry Danish international Michael MAZE, who played for many years in the Champions League, showed great interest in playing in his home country, and after his consent it was time to search for equivalent partners. The squad was completed then by Finn TUGWELL, Allan BENTSEN and coach KE Yi He, the same one that has won the European championships in 2005.

The club won the Danish title in 2007/2008 and entering the European Champions League. In season 2008/2009 they finished on the spot number three in Group A behind Borussia Dusseldorf and Hennebont. Danish side beat Hennebont and Il Circolo Milano, but it was not enough for the place among best eight.

There is the big difference between last season and this one. Last year Roskilde was seed no.3 and now is last, 14th. Than team had two players in first 12 on ITTF World ranking list - Michael MAZE and OH Sang Eun - but now the best one is player-manager Alan BENTSEN, currently no.98. Even they had such strong team, they were stopped in quarter final, playing first match without injured European Champion from Stuttgart 2009, MAZE, new UMMC member. New face in Roskilde’s team is Croat Roko TOSIC.
